Playing games entirely on your own can get boring and monotonous after some time. This is why you should play Cooperative(co-op) games to add an interesting touch to your gaming life.
The best part about co-op games is that you can either play them in pairs or in teams, and you have to work together to reach an objective or a goal. This makes things interesting as you have to create strategies together and then execute them to perfection.
If you are wondering which games you should be playing with your friends, then you have come to the right place! Here are some co-op games that you should check out!
A Way Out
One of my personal favorites is A Way Out, which is about two men who have been wrongfully accused of crimes and must break out of prison. However, this game works entirely in co-op mode and does not give you the option to play it alone.
This is why my friend and I got it in the first place, and our shared experience has been amazing. Both friends need to be connected to the internet at all times so that the gameplay is as flawless as possible. Otherwise, your game will just lag as you play, taking the charm out of playing with each other.
Once both of you are connected to the internet, you can begin your adventure. Do keep in mind that both characters have their storyline going on, so the progress will be different for both players. Also, your friend can play if they don’t have the game too! Not only that but the game can be played in a local co-op setting on one screen or in an online split-screen mode if your friend is far away from you.
Among Us
I wouldn’t believe you if you told me you haven’t ever played Among Us. There was a point in all of our lives when we were playing Among Us with our friends to kill some time. Among Us is the perfect game of deception. The best part about it is that you can get it for free on your smartphone!
In the game, there are a maximum of three imposters and the rest are crewmates on a spaceship. The crewmates have to carry out tasks to make sure everything on the ship is in order. Meanwhile, the imposters have to disrupt these tasks and kill all the crewmates one by one. It is the crewmates’ job to call meetings and figure out who the imposters are.
Minecraft
Even though this seems like a kids’ game, it isn’t as bad as it seems. Minecraft is easy to play but difficult to master, considering all the creative possibilities it gives you. Minecraft is a “Sandbox game,” where you can place and remove blocks to create structures.
The game is set in an open world where the possibilities are endless. You have to create whatever you can, provided the limited resources you carry. Similarly, you have to fight to survive, considering that there are a lot of players playing with you.
If you wish to push your limits to explore your creative side, then you should definitely give Minecraft a shot.
Raft
Raft is a pretty underrated game, but when I played it I thought it was great and worth playing. While you can play the game alone too, I would recommend playing it in co-op mode. The game has its own servers to cater to co-op gameplay.
The game starts with you and a couple of friends stranded in the middle of the sea on a small raft with just a hook in your equipment. You can use the hook to grab barrels and planks. With the barrels and planks, you can craft equipment and extensions for your raft. Eventually, you can also turn your raft into a boat or even a ship!
I’ve played this game with my friends for a couple of years now and every time we play it, it gets so engaging that we lose track of time! You should definitely try it out with your friends too!
Grand Theft Auto Online
This list would have been incomplete without mentioning GTA Online in it. If you love an exhilarating experience when it comes to gaming, then you need to try GTA Online with your friends.
You can take part in heists that are just like story-based missions and every player has a key role in every heist, ensuring that no one feels left out. You may either steal vehicles or rob a place and then escape from the cops. Everyone in the group then splits the loot with each other!
A Bonus Point
Online games always require a reliable internet connection, especially when you are playing with your friends. If your game lags or gets stuck while playing, it can get increasingly frustrating and embarrassing for you.
Relying on a trusted internet can save your boat. I kick-started my gaming journey with one of the Spectrum Internet plans, and it has been up my alley. The plans come with excellent speeds backed by the right bandwidth, making them the perfect internet choice. My online gaming experience has always been seamless, all thanks to it!
